Dégusté lors de l'anniversaire d'un ami. Bon rhum de dégustation assez sec.
Vyrovnaná chuť
Drevina vôňa
Neurazí ani labuznika
Dominicaine .................................Mmmmm
Beautiful flavour coming from bourbon barrel and sweetness coming from cinnamon.
Chuť samotná nasládlá a velice jemně nevtíravá. Trošku ovocná s nádechem kakaa. Další adept do mé sbírky. Velice příjemná je i cena u tohoto výtečného rumu.
Great nose. Great color. Initial sip is very smooth. Terrific bite! But it is balanced. It remains smooth. Warming on the pallet. A little thin. Not complex. Great smoke and vanilla notes with faint coffee oak and blackberry. Finish is very long and a little rough. But this does not detract, just surprises. I am generally not a fan of Dominican rum. This is definitely one of the better ones for me. The second glass was mote impressive than the first. Great on ice or neat. Great price too. Excellent value at under $30
On the nose I smell vanilla, chocolate, butter, on the palate there is wood, spice, toffee all very smooth and sweet, the level of sugar is reasonable 16g/l. The finish is oaky and spicy. The packaging says the rums in the blend are up to 10 years and aged in bourbon casks - I would say the taste reflects that nicely. The taste is nice, round, balanced, but not especially distinctive. Not bad for the price.
- V roce 1929 přijíždí ze Španělska do Santa Domingo mladý Julián Barceló a zakládá Barceló & Co. Až v roce 1950 proráží s produkty Barceló Blanco a Dorado. Roku 1980 se zrodil Ron Barceló Imperial. Ikonický a nejvíce oceňovaný Dominikánský rum. V 90 letech rodina dává práva španělským podnikatelům k exportu a vzniká dnešní Ron Barceló SRL.
- Rum zrál 8-10 let v opálených dubových sudech.
- Vůně je po sušeném ovoci, dubu a vanilce.
- Chuť je po karamelu, vanilce, sušených hruškách a koření.

The nose is light and gentle.
"It’s quite nicely balanced but just a little bit too nice."

Barcelo Imperial and El Pasador de Oro XO.
They are approximately the same price.
After quick introduction of both we had preferred Barcelo.
El Pasador is a bit weird on the nose and does not feel XO enough. Barcelo, indeed, is more solid more man's stuff, classic dominican style.
At the end of the night 75% of Barcelo (score 8) and 20% of EP (score 7) are gone.
Edit: Barcelo plus 1. Rich, strong pleasant, some magic included into 50$
