Kraken Black Spiced

Almost ashamed to confess that I like this rum quite a lot. I prefer unspiced rums, I read others' negative reviews and I am aware that it is heavily pushed by advertising and branding but still I enjoy a glass or several in the company of others at the Pub.
On a cold winter's night strolling with the Mrs and No1 Daughter in the Hipster part of town my girl lives in, we were stopped in the street by a couple fresh out of The Spotted Cow who had decided to carry out their drinks. The Woman (a solicitor of the legal variety) insisted her tipple, a Kraken & Coke, was the rocket fuel of the future. She let me taste it and I was hooked. No shame in that is there?

Very different in taste than other Rums. Can sip for a bit but ultimately I switch to a mix.

What can you say about this rum?? It is possible to drink it straight, but to be quite honest it is a rum best served in a glass with cola.

English style
Nose: Some oak and caramel, but not very intense.
Palate: Sweet, mildly, some chocolate, vanilla and caramel.
Fun drink, not very complex or elaborated though.
Surprised that the label says 47%

I don't like the taste of this one, for its price it's not worth it. Just a nice bottle design

Nice rum for parties, as it mixes well with a variety of drinks. Not a great rum on its own, unless your senses are influenced.

Sugar is very present. Spicy caramel taste. Can serve as a base for a cocktail or be drunk.

Aromat și suficient de fin cu un aftertaste mediu dar bine contirat. Un rom bun la un preț decent. Cred că e mai ok în mix-uri dar niciodată cu cola :)

With all the spiced rum out there my only question is why? Not for me for sure.

This rum is quite nice but should be drinkend with coke. I wouldn't drink this pure.
