Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

Chocolate caramel sweet, lacking balance. Coffee bean
Thought it was a good dark rum from my normal everyday captain and coke go to. Bought this for a day on the boat and wasn’t disappointed.
Not something I would drink neat. When used for a mix it still maintains it's character and I do enjoy that.
My first black rum, and it didn't disappoint. Warming on the way down, with the taste of vanilla and caramel and a hint of cloves. Great for sipping.
In der Nase stark nach Vanille duftend. Süss im Mund, stark wie ein Eselstritt und doch mit einem feinen langen Abgang.
Good mixer with rich dark flavours and plenty on the nose.
I haven’t used it for much more but I like it with coke.
I generally avoid spiced rums, but received a mini-bottle of the Kraken Black Spiced as a gag gift . Never to look a gift rum in the mouth, I tried it and felt it was a lot of okay.
Starting to like the black spiced range, everyone’s palate is different, be a boring world if we were all the same,
For me kraken is really good on its own but also great with a splash of ginger beer
