Kraken Black Spiced

Almost look and smell like syrup. Good choice for these who like sweeter rums.

It is around the same price as Captain Morgan, Bacardi or Havana Club, but is clearly better. Alone it's really strong, but tastes ok. Better for a mixer. It tastes a little like artificial flavours but not so much as others of the same price. On the nose you get lot of vanilla (artificial). It's ok foro drinking with coke, it's possible to drink it neat but I would not recommend it to everyone...

Bought Kraken today and gotta say it was really hard to choose between Kraken, Gosling and Captain Spiced. Most of the reviews between these were heading towards Kraken so I decided to go with it.

Of course everyone who has done their research cannot really expect a rum that you should be sipping neat. So I purchased this more or less as a mixer, which it is. As a mixer this works very well with most of the cocktails I tried, especially Dr. pepper works very very well. I am not even going to give this a review regarding drinking this neat.. since it is not the way this rum should be drank. This is definitely a mixer and as a mixer I would say it is not best but not the worst choice either. Kraken + DR Pepper = Gold!

Tastes like hair spray, absolutely grim. Thought the bottle had gone off at first, but then tried another one. Disappointing, bottle looks great.

Release the kraken! For sure one of my favourites.

The dark color is sweet, strong, and delicious! I really enjoyed sipping it, mixing it with coffee, then, floating off into the sunset.
