Trinidad and Tobago | Spiced | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

It's good. It's cheap. Best in small doses parties. Does okay with coke.
Not a whole lot more to say. It's not a masterpiece but it's pleasent as I said in small doses.
...This is why the low rating. It's spiced (!) and not just a bit. Every drop is perfect for baking cakes and making Creme Brulée. Too much flavor (!!) And they are not so natural...
definitely has some byte. Got is as a gift and liked it.
Au final un gout qui peut intéresser mais un sentiment de "trop artificiel" pour ce Kraken.
It’s dark, very dark.
The smell gives the tones of sweetness away immediately. The first sip is nothing you are used to when it comes to dark rums. It’s full and sweet, but a bit strange compared to the others. That isn’t a bad thing, but you can’t deny that a lot is added to this rum to create its unique flavor.
You can say a lot about this rum, but you can’t say it’s taste isnt unique. Good for sipping. Recommend.
"Easily consumable in a bind" is indeed the best description for this rum. I was overwhelmed by vanilla, and didn't taste much else when I tried it straight.
Mixed well with sodas, but the alcohol will still be there. Be careful.
Lovely caramel flavour to this. I like this as a sipper and love it as a mixer with Coke.
A caramel/treacley heavy molasses like smell. .
"There is nothing subtle about the spicing and the caramel flavour makes the rum, to my taste overly sweet."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I’m not a fan of any black licorice flavored anything but this can work if mixed with a ginger ale or coke
