Kraken Black Spiced

I really like the Kraken. It can be taken on neat. But this is VERY good stuff with Cola on it!

I'm not a big fan of spiced rums. Cap Morgan was my first, this one the second. I wasn't fascinated none ot this. I've bough this bottle in duty-free so it has 94 proof and I did it just because of the nice bottle. The liquid inside turn out just simple octopus ink with spirit and was not rum. It hadnt taste of rum nor aroma. Awful...

This rating is based on comparison with other spiced rums. If you dont like spiced rums, dont buy this one at all because it is very intense and you will not enjoy it.

If you are still considering buying Kraken you should know some informations about it:
1) It is mixed from rums of only 1 year of age.
2) It has very intensive aroma
3) Its taste is quite different than other spiced rums as there are many ingrediences

For people who like smooth and soft rums like DIplomatico this wont be a good choice. But if you enjoy drinking much harder stuff, this will not be a mistake.

Also, it has really nice bottle design and it's a nice add to your collection.

I love everything about Kraken rum. On its own, the flavors are deep and complex. Mixed with Coke or Dr. Pepper, it brings life to classic drinks.

Which is why it blew my mind when I read reviews on this site saying that Captain Morgan's Black was better than Kraken.

As a sipping rum, it has a diversity of flavors. With ice, it's refreshing and smooth. Mixed with sodas, it gives a "craft" flavor to even cheap Coke knockoffs.

How anyone can say a bad thing about Kraken is beyond me!

There may be finer sipping runs like Pyrat, Eldorado, Matusalem, etc but none of these fine ones can arouse the pirate spirit like The Kraken. Smooth, but not too smooth; dark like the night that we sail in; mystical taste beckoning us to do things that may or may not be legendary. Drink it neat in large shot glass and slowly drift towards the outer islands.😁😁😁

This rum is a good mixer rum. Not too good as sipper. Cost is high for what you taste.

I've been enjoying this rum for a few years now, and while it's not the greatest, for the price you get an excellent tasting strong spiced rum.

If you can believe it at a recent rum tasting event this was the top rum. We did not know they were not providing sipping rums. But you know you can actually sip this to my surprise.
