Philippines | Aged | 40% ABV
Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

This was my first real rum to taste and it was the "recommend" one from the barman. I like sweet drinks, so I liked it. After, trying more rums I realised the difference in the flavor that a good rum should have.
I’ve been interested to try the Don Papa Small Bach for a while now and now I finally got my self a bottle. First thing I noticed when opening the bottle was a sweet smell almost like a birthday cake. Not like anything I’ve ever felt before. After letting it rest for 5 minutes in a glass I took a sip. It’s sweet, like really sweet and the taste is overwhelming with vanilla fudge and then comes the burn. Overall I’d say it’s perfect together with a cup of coffee but not as a rum you sit down and enjoy on a Friday or Saturday night.
To make it drinkable as anything else I mixed 80% Plantation Grand Reserve Barbados with 20% Don Papa.
Fruity taste with a clear barrel character, hints of arrack, orange, chocolate, vanilla, nougat and cola.
Bottle: 700ml
Alcohol: 40%
Sugar content: 30g/l
it's not 9 but for me my rum adventure started after drinking this one
I immediately fell in love with what a taste rum should taste like rum and Donpapa does
this is a perfect rum for the novice rum drinker
Smells really sweet, in a body you can taste vanilla as the main ingredient. The first sip of this rum floats your mouth with a sweet taste, although after swallowing you can taste the strength made by 7 years chilling in a barrel. Favorite one.
Nella media dei rum commerciali buono anche se molto aggressivo in gola

Smells a lot like a vanilla and lemonade ice cream float.
"For all its sweet sugariness, its really very drying and bitter on the palate once it all settles down."

Nice sweet smell, tastes sweet at the beginning, bitter at the end. For this price I rather buy Diplo Reserva..
