Philippines | Aged | 40% ABV
Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

A really sweet spirit. Is it a rum? If you say so... Ether way a nice one to have in your collection
Sweet aroma of vanilla and orange (actual a review I read called it marmalade which is more accurate). The taste is not unpleasant, however understand the issue with the artificially sweetened flavour.
I don't have time for the wannabe rum snobs who immediately discount it as they have found it has been artificially sweetened, however that said, whilst I am glad I have a bottle of this in my collection, it most probably would not be replaced once finished.
Bought this one for my father, but in my opinion it tastes very synthetic. Dont think it is as aged as they say. Bottle looks nice on the shelf so keep it there and dont touch it anymore.
a very artificial meme rum from the philippines. artificially flavoured, sweetened and coloured. the bottle and label are probably worth more than the liquid thats inside. the power of marketing and nice design.
fun thing is, its drinkable though
A to díky vulkanické půdě u úpatí hory St. Kanlaon.
Dozvuk: Opět ultra sladký a velmi krátký
Sladkost: 3/3
Ochutnán 2x vzorek
Likérová záležitost. Vůbec to nepřipomíná rum; spíš směs několika likérů. Tato značka nebude můj šálek "rumu".
Great rum to have on the rocks. Subtle taste that has become a great whiskey replacement
I wanted to like this rum (my wife is form this Island from the foothills of Mt Kanlaon where it's made) it comes with a beautiful design but it wasn't what I was hoping for. However it manages to give a nice first impression. If you just have a shot then it may impress you and also the ladies. Vanilla and other spices will come through with a surprising pleasant smoothness but if you like to sip your rum then it will get boring. It's flavored rum that can put a smile on the ladies face but sippers like me may want to look elsewhere.
První "opravdový" rum. Za mne na běžné popíjení ideální.

Smells a lot like a vanilla and lemonade ice cream float.
"For all its sweet sugariness, its really very drying and bitter on the palate once it all settles down."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Sirupy strange artificial taste. The bottle looks nice but with a close look, the print is very cheap. Couldn't get it down pure. As it is more expensive I didn't want to throw it away. Mixed with water and apple juice at least drinkable.
UPDATE
I had another go from a tasting set. First sip was the same. Rest I drank from a much wider glass. Definitely improved the taste. Rating changed from 2 to 3.
