I hope the new arrivals never stop because I want to try it all! There's nothing that can beat experimenting with the labors of man's love. Rum being in the top 10 of his history. I look forward to every new arrival good or bad. It will be my decision to decide & that's a gift in itself. Arrrgh!☠...

I've decided to give out 10's to one rum/Area or style. So by moment it's: Barbados: St. Nicholas Abbey 12yo Jamaica: Appleton Joy Guyana: El Dorado 25yo (not sure if it will get a 10 in a retest) Rest of English styled: English Harbour 1981 Spanish styled: Zafra 30 Martinique: Clement XO (Old drop bottle) Guadeloupe: Have some untasted great releases from Montebello & ReimonenQ of whi...

What is your price range? That being said, Plantion XO was mentioned and it generally between $50 and $60 here in the US and is also consistently rated as one of the best rums under $100 on this site. It is my go to rum for the balance of reasonable pricing and quality.  ...

I like to look at new offerings at my local TWM from time to time, spotted this last week. Haven't seen it before. I think it might be trying to mimic Goslings Black Seal? I don't recall what it said, but I did read the bottle, and if I remember correctly, it is a blend that includes at least Barbados and Jamaica, though I could be mis-remembering that. Can't find much about it, though the one and...

DB: I vividly remember why I got disgusted with posting reviews about a year ago. In a nutshell, it was way too many Foursquare ECS fanboys on this site. I came to the conclusion that these fanboys were really bourbon drinkers who refused to admit that they moved on over to the much more wonderful world of rum. Rum is gluten free and bourbon is not. A nurse friend told me that only about 2 percen...

Sorry that I expressed myself a little bad. Â The Red Label (42%) is an old version of today's US version of the Blue Label. Today is also the US version labeled with a blue label, but at 42% instead of 40% that the Blue Label has in Europe....

I love the Family reserve (selection de familia) found only at Total Wine in my area, and it's packaged at 70 versus 75 typical US standard. Also slightly over proof I think 42% versus. 40%. It's a great improvement more depth and a very solid rum. ...

Thanks I have tried Dictador, i might see about a bottle of either the Perpetual or Insolent. But (this might sound contrived) i am looking for somthing a little more niche, a little more old worldly. Maybe intentionally, little rough round the edges, but well made. ...

This so-called collectors item cardboard gift box came wrapped around a bottle of Parce 12 Year rum from Columbia. Without a doubt, this is one of the most bizzare gift boxes that I have ever seen. My recent review of this rum was rated as an 8, but for whatever reason, I was not allowed to submit this image with my review. So for better or worse, here it is now!...

Paul, pilar might be right down your alley! The bartender at the distillery told us that they use a Louisiana distillery for their aged blending. She didn't know which one they use only that it's sourced from your neck of the woods....
