Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
This was the first DMF rum I tried, and I have to say, it's delicious. I have all my rums with pepsi max, so no sweetness overload, I'm surprised it's only got a 4.2 rating.
Дата розлива: 04.01.2023г.
Номер бутылки: 6729. Batch № VI.
This is my first review so not heavy on the details. That said, this rum was quite delicious in a daiquiri. This is my second Demerara rum and I enjoy the style. I got notes of toffee and vanilla with a hint of oak. The drink on the left is the El Dorado 12, same mix on the right with Plantation Xaymaca…the nod goes to ED12.
Aroma - baked banana followed by nail polish remover, orange peel, and latex
Taste - caramelized banana followed by overripe mango, oak, and a long barrel spice finish
I don't know much about the nuance of rum tasting, including the terms and what to actually look for. However, this certainly is a good rum. The price is far better than I would expect, and it goes down very well. I've tried This and Imperial Onyx and while this rum is certainly not as good, it is better than anything else I've had for the same price.
Well it’s a ‘spiced cane spirit’ but alas. You can smell the pineapple and ginger for sure. Maybe a little bit of the cane spirit, but mostly just super sweet fruit on the nose. The first sip is a bit odd, I think it’s the vanilla and ginger combination that really doesn’t go together well. The subsequent sips are better, though not great. The same pineapple scent is strong on the palette as well, then some spices join the mix too. It reminds me of Plantation Stiggin Fancy with a ton of low quality spices. After yet another sample, it’s actually not bad on its own— that is, for a spiced “rum”. It’s got a certain funk (not Jamaican, but a funk all to itself) and I must admit that it is growing on me. Surprisingly fun to sip on once you know what you’re in for. Especially if you like different.
Now that’s on the sipping side, and this clearly wasn’t made to be a sipper, (one has to try though).
When mixing with ginger beer, it makes quite a heavenly concoction. Very refreshing and not too sweet. Highly recommend this bottle for that.

I'm definitely looking forward to Hoochery, I've heard many good things!...
Medium dark colour. Not too sweet, not too much wood. One of the better rums I have tasted.
Sweet and slightly sticky. Nice dark colour. Goes down easily neat.
While I love Demerara, the blend with the Jamaican overpowers the smooth light oaked flavour for a vegetative funk and acetone. It may be a good way for a distiller to get rid of some of its overstock, but the final product is diminished. Works great as a complex mixer but would not want to drink this straight. Other Hamilton blends are better. Reminds me of a smokey Havana Club 7 year.
It’s very nice to sip, just a little sharp
Maybe fresh oak , I’m unaware if so
Ak Zanj is one of my favorite brands but I knew going into this that unaged agricoles just aren't for me. This one will definitely go in cocktails, alone I can't mistake the distinct BBQ sauce note on the finish. Not too "bring", which is a plus.
Very smooth rum. Long lasting after taste. Overall a good rum for everybody's collection.
Bottle from Systembolaget, bought and tasted in August 2024.
I will never know if this individual bottle was actually defective, the result of some malevolent sorcery, or if it was simply crafted by a sadistic alchemist intent on ruining lives. Whether consumed neat or mixed, this rum is a vile insult to very notion of a drinkable spirit. If this result is what was actually intended, I can only assume that any glowing reviews were penned by lobbyists of the industrial fox poison industry, working to boost sales of their toxic concoctions.
Spending over $70 on this travesty, from a reputable vendor to boot, was a painful mistake. The nose and palate are a ghastly mix of rancid bitterness and sour, burnt soul. No further detailed notes should or will be provided, in order to protect potentially sensitive readers. In this case, and this case alone, I only wish that the finish was much, much shorter than it actually was.
In the movie "The Matrix", the character Switch laments: "Not like this... Not like this." I suddenly understand where she was coming from. This rum is nothing short of an abomination, and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. I would perhaps consider offering it to Amon Göth, but even then, I would have ethical doubts. Still, this gets a rating as high as 2. In the interest of full disclosure, I must attest that there were no particularly prevalent notes of rubbish juice, fermented herring, or cyanide-infusion in this rum. (They were still there – just not prevalent.)
On the nose this spiced rum by Two Lasses has strong notes of vanilla and honey. Drank neat it’s silky smooth with absolutely zero alcohol burn, therefore it deserves to be regarded as a quality sipping rum. On the palate, it’s very sweet with a liqueur like consistency, thanks to the honey and vanilla flavourings. And in the aftertaste there is a slight kick courtesy of the ginger. Although this rum is very enjoyable neat, thanks to the fact that it’s more sugar than spice, it also combines really well with Coca-Cola. The fizzy dark stuff tempers the sweetness some what, while accentuating the spice, giving this rum a more even balance between the two.

If you don't plan to drink it, I see no reason to buy it. For 151 dark rum I had Gosling's which is easy for me to pick up where I live and isn't expensive. It's dark but not true demerara. So I had Lemon Hart 151 shipped to me this weekend. How is it? Delicious. Surprisingly amazing for high proof. Then I made a cocktail that calls for it. The drink uses it for a quarter of the amount of...
I am a fan of the Reserva Exclusiva so thought I would try this. It's nice. I prefer the finish of the Reserva and it costs less.
Mr. Rumatic’s review hits the flavor notes precisely. Like many high quality extra strength rums a tich of water or a small cube expands the flavor notes. It is one of the best Ex-Sherry casks rums I’ve ever had and I try all that I can find.
Some pow with some wow. Comes on strong as expected with a pleasant back sweet note with hint of Madeira. Adding a tich of water or small cube lightens the load and softens all quite well. If I can find another will buy.
Caramel, raisins, little technical notes and vanilla in aroma; caramel, grapes, honey amd harsh end of body; warming tail.
I've tried two different banana-based alcohols, and this tastes noticeably better. Glad this one has a higher rating, I feel some ratings make DMF rums out to be awful, but honestly, as a regular person, I advise giving it a go.
