Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.
This rum was first created in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the distillery, the Santa Teresa Hacienda.

Roundish, not to sweet rum with a fantastic honeyish finish
Fue una grata sorpresa tomar un ron venezolano tan sabroso, algo dulce y con buen sabor. Yo lo tomΓ© con refresco y hace muy buena combinaciΓ³n.
Dollar for Dollar the best rum on the market. Great with a splash of ginger ale/coke, and fantastic on the rocks. Extremely versatile and reasonably priced
My first "great" rum which I like till today. Not so sweet, which i like and for still reasonable price.
A complex taste that is a bit flawed by some rough ethanol tasting edges. Overall still a good choice if you're okay with a bit of a rougher finish.
Great rum. Needs a cube of ice to mellow it and bring out the toasty caramel flavours
By far my favorite rum. Best enjoyed poured over ice and slowly sipped. Full of flavour and so smooth.
It goes down smooth with a little bit of an afterburn. I like the fact that it's not too sweet but still offers very complex favors. I enjoy having this one when I'm more in the mood for sipping a dryer rum as oppessed to the sweeter ones like Diplomatico or Zaya.
The Rum Barrel Review
"On the nose thereβs a lovely dark profile. Fresh ground coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, plums. There are some tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit, followed by a slight grassy note. Nutmeg, old leather, tobacco and white pepper. On the palate it goes down so easy. Milk chocolate, vanilla, honey, mango, toffee and cashews. Canned pineapple, blackcurrant, coconut cream and coca cola. The tobacco note is back along with some cinnamon. Not crazy sweet, fairly well balanced and easy going. Cocoa butter and orange marmalade. Towards the end is where you get a bit more oak spices and some alcohol heat. The finish is short with cocoa nibs, some oak tannins and maple syrup."
Has a nice light sweet vanilla note.
"Spicy notes and a oaky lavour are very pleasant and not overpowering."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
