Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac

Very nice smooth well rounded rum. Toffee is in the forefront with some spice. Very nice indeed.
My favorite so far, light smooth with a bite, very expensive but worth the money, pairs well with a medium spicy cigar

Without a doubt this is a exquisite rum with notes of spicy toffee and vanilla and light fruits. I love this rum, I love the glass I had, but I cannot say I would recommend anyone to buy this rum. From $100.00 you can get far better rums almost anywhere in the US for less money. I found nothing in this bottle that stood out as outstanding when compared to other high-end rums I have had, and hell even other high end bourbons, cognacs and scotchs have more to offer than this in the $100.00 and up range that would be much better bey for the money. I just didn't get $100.00 of enjoyment out of this bottle, and that's a sham.

Zacapa XO är en rom som är... speciell... på ett positivt och negativt sätt. Färgen är rödaktigt brun med en fin mörk ton. I början stark doft av alkohol som övergår till toner av kola och vanilj, även en hint av mogna körsbär. Smaken är mycket kryddig, komplex med toner av vanilj. Eftersmaken håller länge och påminner en del om konjak, det är där man känner den stora skillnaden på gott och ont. Personligen så föredrar jag Zacapas Solera 23 då den är lite lenare i smaken, inte lika komplex som denna XO. Men intressant med lite omväxling ibland. Tycker dessutom inte att Zacapas XO är så prisvärd, men man får en fin flaska på köpet. Kul rom att bjuda på då reaktionerna blir väldigt olika.
