Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac
The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

Got this rum for my birthday, was really looking forward to drinking it. Its one of the best rums i have ever drinkend, yet there are rums which are just as nice for a lower price.
Wow, this one’s amazing. Smooth, full, caramel, vanilla, truly outstanding. Not woody, no alcool burn, no kick at first sip like a lot if old rums out there. My top 3 favorite with Eldorado 15 years and Plantation 20th anniversary.
It's has the leathery, nail polish and wet wood aroma when it's poured. Follow by sweets spices, caramel, nutty and dark creme cacao liquer (pecan pie with vanilla sauce).
Warm sweet spices when it's sipped. Sherry like fruitiness such as raisins, prunes, dates chocolate chips cookies with sea salt.
Charred wood finishing, orange zest and coca bitterness.
Muy buen ron, basta con agregarle sólo 1 cub ode hielo para activarlo. Es un sacrilegio combinarlo. Creo que la imagen de la página no está actualizada con la botella actual.
Because of the name XO on the bottle you get the impression that the taste would stay for a long time in the mouth. But after a few minutes i forgot what it was.
Not particularly smooth compared to cheaper 23, but very unique flavour and nice to sip. I didn't love it at first but it grew on me.
Very tasty without much bite. I prefer a bit more sweetness, but this is definitely a fantastic rum. A bit dry, but not due to barrel aging.
Great Great Rum for everyone, even though its quite expensive to acquire. In this price range i also suggest the single vintage Diplomatico Rum
This rum comes in a really nice looking box with the interior pre-shaped to fit the beautiful bottle. That said, now to the rum. The smell is good, the taste is good with sweet notes, but.... I am not a fan of the aftertaste of the cognac barrel aging. That's the 7 for. Otherwise I would give it a 8-8.5. Nice to have in the collection for its beautiful bottle and box.

It is rich with coffee notes and a little tobacco.

Great Presentation and delivers the goods. Not quite as sweet or liqueur-like as Diplomatico Excluseva Reserva. Very nice smooth sipping rum.
