Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)

Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.

The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.

The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Great and well rounded. This is not genuine aged but non the less a great rum!

Min första Zacapa. Detta är om jag förstått rätt en av de absolut mest köpta i Danmark och Sverige. Så förväntningarna var höga och de infriades, men det finns faktiskt de som är ännu bättre enligt mig!!!

Have only been collecting rum for a short while but this is by far the nicest I have. Very smooth and great with just a lump of ice. I bought the Edicion Negra on the back of this, haven't tried it yet.

This was the first bottle of rum that I spent more than 40 dollars on, and at first I was a little bit disappointed. My go to rum is the Kirk and Sweeney 12 year, and even though I like it better than this Zacapa 23 year after a second tasting I appreciate it a little more. At first sniff, it was a little harsh and needed to breath but after a good breathing it calmed down a bit and more flavors came out. I'm sure many will thumb their nose at me, but I'm not a sipper I prefer to mix my rum with ginger ale but this rum was smooth enough that even I was able to drink it neat without mixing and to me that says something about the quality of the product. Still like K and S 12 year better but this is not a bad rum, and I would definitely recommend it.

No surprises here - sweet. Consistent rum.... just wonder what % is 23 years... for an industrial run

Me gusta, era lo que esperaba.
Semi dulce. Buen precio calidad.

Taste great almost too desert like. Added sugar and not a true 23 year keeps this at a 7 for me

Tasty sweet rum. Not quite as sweet or unique as the Madares 5+5 but still a good rum.
