Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Absolut toppklass, smaken är helt underbar. Mörk kolasmak med lite sötma.
Taste very soft and fruty, the way i like it! Drink it pure not with cola!!
I bought It in Prague, my top 5, Really good and safe choice
The good stuff
Not overly sweet but a nice touch
Rum candy smooth drinking
Well worth sharing or to keep to oneself
I bought this on a whim not hearing of it before or read a review. Havnt tried it with a mixer, im sure itll be tasty with ginger or coke, but i was disappointed when drinking it neat. It was tasty and slightly smooth but does have a bit of a burn for a 23yo rum. Then i read into this rum, and it isnt a true 23yo. Not suprised.
Overall a bit disappoiting for £35, especially when something like a Red Leg at £16 is twice as nice when drank neat.
This rum was a real disappointment for me. I wont buy it again.
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Very smooth with notes of caramel and raisins. Great for whisky drinkers
