Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

The rum really tastes good, and have som Nice aromas, but I thing it is very over rated, and I must say that I expected more of it.
Its a very good rum for beginners and I personally enjoy it also neat.
However the sugar taste is strong and sometimes annoying.
If it can be found at Price around 45€ it is worth buying and trying out.
Veľmi príjemná karamelovo oriešková vôňa s nádychom tabaku. Mierne sladkoslaná chuť s korenistým dozvukom. Podľa vône som očakával viac ovocia.
I like it but not as much as the Ron Zacapa XO the XO is smooth with out the burn. I like the look of the bottle and it is definitely good maybe over some ice would be better
Must say that this would be the first rum, that lured me into rum world. The sweet caramel and 23yo silky soft taste was really enjoyable.
Für Süßstoff ganz nett. Nase war gut, Gaumen zu süß. Eigentlich ähnlich wie beim Plantation 20th Anni, nur mit etwas anderen Aromen. Einen direkten Vergleich hatte ich jedoch nicht.
Made to suit a good amount of people, this has some solid base but it is extremely far from aged rum, more like better version of sweet legendario elixir. It is recommendable and quite smooth but doesn't really deserve a 9 or a 10.
7.5 as far as I am concerned.
This is by far Best Tasteing Rum that I have had. Very smooth and light.
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

"The interplay between the wood of the barrel and the liquor contents gives the alcohol its flavour, colour and character..."

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.

Don't shoot me,i didn't mean it's not a good rum but you can have better than this at lower price.
El Dorado 12,Diplomatico Exclusiva,Abuelo 12 are some of better and cheaper rum than this.
