Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Jeden z nejdostupnějších rumů v naších luzích a hájích. Vůně a chuť kulatá, spíše uzavřená s tóny sušeného i čerstvého ovoce, vanilky a karamelu - možná místy trošku fádní, ovšem velice dobře sladěné a rozhodně ne špatné
This is a good benchmark rum, a little sweet but with great lingering notes. Worth the money.
Without breaking the bank Solera 23 is one of the best out there. Not too strong, full of flavor, and smooth. An excellent choice for someone wanting to try something new.

I agree, it is a bit overrated, not bad but not great either, i’ve tried better for the same price range, ugliest color i’ve seen in rums, for a processed rum with added tints i think they are not doing such a great job.

Ďalšia krásna, taktiež veľmi známa fľaša do mojej zbierky. 23-ročný rum, aj keď vyrobený na princípe "solera system" ma prekvapil, vcelku pozitívne, aj keď ide o zmes rumov, z ktorého najstarší má 23 rokov.
Fľaša: samotná fľaša ma zaujala svojimi prvkami, jednak znakom orchidei ale hlavne ručne vyrobeným petate prúžkom na spodnej časti fľaše, ktorý bol vyrobený z banánového lístia - krásny detail, ktorý pre niekoho môže pôsobiť dosť osobne a človeka tak nadchne.
Vôňa: vôňa nie je veľmi výrazná avšak krásne sa tu prelína vôňa medu, kože, trocha korenia, mierne alkohol, čokoláda ale čo na mňa pôsobí najviac je vôňa sušených sliviek.
Chuť: v chuti cítim alkohol, ale je ho tu primerane. Sladkosť medu, taktiež niečo mentolové.
Záver: Tento rum ma prekvapil, aj keď som o ňom počul či už veľa pozitívnych, tak aj negatívnych ohlasov. Pre množstvo ľudí, ako aj pre mňa, ide o akýsi etalón medzi rumami. Pije sa príjemne, niektoré vône sa taktiež prejavia po odstatí pohárika, či už plného alebo prázdneho. Odporúčam
A great smooth tasting rum. Not sweet, just a refined drop enjoyed on the rocks.
Actually quite dry and oaky.

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.
