Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

usually do not drink run straight but had this at a restauant and liked very much. Read others comments regarding age and sweetness but does not change my opinion
If you want to impress a nice lady and she is in for a adventure, you should give her this one.
Deceiving with it's "23" over a solera rum and with it's added sugar and color, yet a smooth sipping. Easy to drink. Won't take you anywhere interesting but will nevertheless take you a good company once in a while.
This is ohne of my favorite rums. There is no alcohol in The taste at all.
