Bacardi Oakheart rum

Bacardi Oakheart

United States | Spiced | 35% ABV

Launched in 2011, Bacardi Oakheart is the newest addition to the extensive Bacardi collection.

This spiced rum is aged for 1 to 2 years, filtered using a proprietary process, and then flavored with various spices including maple, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.

Bacardi Oakheart took over two years to name and more than 2700 names were considered. The winner, Oakheart, is a reference to the charred American white oak barrels that house the rum while it ages.

but I tried it straight, lots of tastes, vanilla, sweet all the added flavors. But gone as fast as they came. Now I know it, will give a second chance with a coke.

As my taste for finer rums expands I find that the oakheart has gone from sipping rum to just a good mixer. I have always been an over ice guy but I do from time to time find the enjoyment in adding some.coke to the mix and that is where oakheart finds itself in my collection now a days.

Oakheart is probably the best spiced rum for this value.

Ok maybe I am biased because I don't really like spiced rums...but I'd go for Captain Morgan anytime instead of this if I really wanted spiced rum.

The first taste is bearable but the second sip gives a neverending taste of all the bad tastes that will come...

After I have tried the Bacardi 8, Bacardi and this one I must say this is the one I like best from their distillery. It even works for sipping.
But it is not to fine to also be used in a drink. It is not a very complex rum but more a simple one. Not to bitter not to bland but in no way an awesome rum. Easy going is the best I can say.

It's very good at its price. I enjoyed it. Wasnt a favorite but id definitely give it another try if i was in the mood. Definitely on the sweeter side of things i believe. Has a oak flavor as well. Hints the name. If youre looking to try simething new this is definitely not a bad rum to give a try!
