Mount Gay Extra Old (often written "OX") is a blend of rums aged between 8 and 15 years in American bourbon barrels.
Mount Gay Distilleries is the oldest operating distillery in the Americas - producing rum in Barbados since 1703. It's original name was Mount Gilboa, and in 1801 renamed Mount Gay after the distillery's manager Sir John Gay Alleyne.

Not much notes in the nose or mouth. It just didn't do it for me
Rum tmavo zlatej farby s veľmi peknou arómou a s autentickou chuťou karibiku. Pri svojej sile 43% je veľmi jemný a vyvážený. Po naliatí a chvíľke postátia v pohári môžete zacítiť tropické ovocie, banány, náznaky pražených mandlí. Vôňa tohto rumu je krásne karibská. V chuti je poznať vanilku, prezreté banány, orechy a taktiež zrenie v sudoch po bourbone, rum je suchší, presne taký ako má byť. Toto je rum pre tých, ktorí vedia oceniť poctivý karibský rum bez potreby pridania množstva zbytočného cukru. Je to pán Rum.
After taste is not long, but still the rum has a very good body and nice flavour.
Hodně dobrý rum, chuť sušší než se zdá ve vůni. Je znát chuť po bourbonu.
It is like a benchmark wine, you know what you will get for the money. which is a lot.
This rum has a nice subtle taste and is quite smooth. It’s a blended rum with 7 to 15 year aged rums being used. Great color and overall nice to sip neat. The only noteworthy demerit would be that there is a slight lingering aftertaste. Otherwise worth trying.

Easy to get, delicious neat.. Pairs well with milk chocolate
Just the right balance of oak and sweetness. Best enjoyed over a large sphere of ice. You taste the islands in it.
