Mount Gay XO Extra Old

Nice sipping rum, tastes sweet in the beginning but a second later you notice it isn't a sweet rum at all. Got a very nice smell aswell. I get banana and toffee. Has a bit of a burn but at 43% that isn't strange and it isn't unpleasant either. I highly recommend it.

It is obvious MGXO is not the ever best rum and there are more better rum but for me it still the best. Fisrt off it perfectly balanced - a little bit sweet and still quite dry. For me it is perfect. Of course it is quite wooden, has some dried fruits & spices and it this case the balance presented too. May be it taste not so great but it cost only 40$! With this money you cant find something better here so MGXO is still the best!

Got to try this out in Holetown, Barbados. Mixed with Ginger Beer at locals insistence was a real treat

This is some really adorable stuff, considering the fairly low price. The smell seduces you, the taste doesn't disappoint you either. A real bargain.

Very pleasant surprise with this rum fruity aroma smooth to the palate and a subtle tatste of ginger to finish.

but smooth, oh, smooth, i'm not a spirits guy, but, since red wines don't go well in the summer, with this rum i guess i just became one. I hope my rating is fair, as it is my first aged rum, but certainly its not my last one.

I like this rum.

I always find it hard to describe, what something taste like. if I like it, then I like it.
In cae of this Mount Gay, I can say the same. I really enjoyed sipping from this one.

It is such a pleasure to sip this rum, I wonder why it is so cheap! Definitely worth any cent spent in the purchase...
