Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

It’s a good rum for cocktails and if you like spiced rums straight. Will creep in on you and wreck your night if you let it.
Easy on the pallet ... good everyday drinking rum ... not too harsh and no big hangover in the morning when compared to some of the other mid range rums on the market ... good value for money
Great as a mix but way too sweet to be a sipper. Tasting notes of Dr Pepper with 43gpl. Watch the 47% or you could lose your sea legs pretty quick
Love the bottle illustration. Works fine as a mixer for a dark and stormy or with oj. Not a sipper. Higher proof. Good.
A great looking bottle housing a decent but not extraordinary rum. It mixes well and can be drunk on its own. Not ideal for the latter though and tends to be expensive because of the branding. Has to be tried but better for the money out there
This rum was okay. Just okay. It's not really sip-able and doesn't work well as a normal mixer. I assume there are specialty drinks this is used for?
Is this even a real rum? Best not to try runs that have a friggin’ squid in the label.
Lekker bbqen en dan past deze er prima bij. Drinkt lekker weg
A caramel/treacley heavy molasses like smell. .
"There is nothing subtle about the spicing and the caramel flavour makes the rum, to my taste overly sweet."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Little bit of spice sets off the fairly strong molasses flavor. Decent enough to drink with just a cube in it, great with cola. Stands strong against heavily spiced foods and goes with anything Old Bay. My wife’s go to.
