Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

This stuff is pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I’d buy again, but not anytime soon.
Best of the value spiced rums for me. Spicy enough to go into cocktails, but not too artificial as crappy Captain Morgan
The first couple times I tried this I was not a fan, but it’s grown on me. I especially like this after I’ve had a couple drinks already and want something with a bit of kick and bold taste to punch through (without being disgusting). This does the job.
Also makes a really nice dark n stormy, as a few others have mentioned.

Black Kraken is a rum on the stronger side. It has a unique, dark color, but might be a little to strong for some people to sip neat. It goes great over ice.
Not a bad one to have. Find it’s better to mix. Wouldn’t have more then a few of these a night, pretty heavy

Mixing is surely the way for this spirit. Neat, on the rocks - acceptable. Unfortunately only 40% version is available in my region.

Ok neat and works with mixers. One of the better Rums in its price range.
