Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

Say what you will about the Kraken, the flavor is there and usually consistent, and the price point makes this an everyday go-to for fixing a fine cocktail at the end of a long day. Not the most sophisticated, but a reliable standard for any rum collection.
Not a bad spiced rum, certainly preferable to many other alternatives out there.
Lo mejor de Kraken es la botella y la bestia marina en sí. El marketing lo ha sobredimensionado. Mucho sabor extraño y añadido que el ron ni se saborea. No me gustó.
A very adaptive to a range of mixers, punchy molasses flavour
Its a very dark spiced rum. You can taste the alcohol like with any rum but its hidden really well for a 47 percent alcohol content drink. It goes down really smoothly and I prefer to drink it straight although there are a couple mixers it works well in like with coke. The whole Kraken aesthetic is really fun too. The bottle looks killer, their advertisements are the best alcohol ads I've ever seen, and it really does make you feel like a pirate. Make sure to stay hydrated though. This stuff will give you a horrible hangover if you let it. Kraken don't mess around.
Není špatný, ale velmi průměrný. Mně stačilo ochutnat, ale že bych měl chuť pořídit celou láhev, to ani náhodou. Rumově mdlý, něco málo dohání koření, ale žádný zázrak se nekoná.
Koreneny, stredne sladky rum...neurazi, ale ani nicim nenadchne... v podobnej cenovej hladine je urcite lepsou volbou Ron de Jeremy Spiced.
Kraken is nice. I rated Diplomatico Exclusiva lower than this because (here in Aus) it's a premium rum with way too much sugar. Kraken has sugar, but Kraken is well blended, enjoyable, mixes well and is a good sipper by itself.
Non certo un rum da intenditori, ma con la sua ammicante bottiglia può avvicinare molti a questo molto. Peccato solo che paia di bere amaretto di saronno

Full of strong flavours. I really like this over ice. I find it a bit too harsh to drink neat. Not a rum I'd bring out for a special occasion by any means, but I always have a bottle in the bar as my "house rum".
