Nicaragua | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
A sugar-free 12-year old, ultra premium rum that is sustainably produced (Carbon Neutral & Fair Trade certified). From a 5th generation family estate, it is naturally aged without artificial ingredients, distilled 100% with renewable energy and KOSHER certified. A full-bodied rum with a long and smooth finish that lingers in the palate. Best enjoyed in a Rum Old Fashioned or with a splash of premium sparkling water or ginger ale and an orange twist.

This is a good rum to use in recipes but not so much as a sipping rum. Dont get me wrong, the caramel and vanilla flavors will shine through, but I would choose other rums to sip on.
Rum with vanilla lika aroma but not with bad alcohol bang in the end. On taste sweet, dry and oak like. Despite its age tastes very fresh. I'm big fan of those unusual elegant bottles. In this value cathegory it's one of my favourites.
Smooth and sweet rum that lacks a bit of punch for my taste. Vanilla and caramel are the most present flavors with a little bit of oak. Fine bottle, nothing special thou
Smooth with a sweet taste but missing any Wow. A nice rum but was expecting much more. This gets a 7 as I would drink it again but would not seek it out as there are simply to many better offerings on the market.
was impressed with this rum today, had a great taste just a tad bitter but that could be me. well worth the investment
Nothing to write home about. The 18 year is better and worth the extra $.
Butterscotch and caramel some sweet tobacco and a tiny hint of orange or citrus ? So far so good, but then a aftertaste of alcohol that goes over in some long notes. As a sipper ok, if you cant afford the good stuff. As a mixer ok , but nothing extra. To sum up in every way decent , but in no way extraordinary. The aftertaste simply not good enough. If you can get it (2021) for around 45 USD a good buy.
Expected more after the label prizing it to be top rum. Disappointed in that regard. Sometimes it's good not to oversell I guess
'smooth and full of fruit and nut flavors'
"Flor de Cana 12-Year rum review by The Ultimate Rum Guide"
There is very little astringency or “booze” noted in the nose.
"A sip reveals a very smooth yet spicy rum. There is very little burn it tingles on the lips and tongue for a long time. It is a long finish."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
