Flor de Caña 12-Year

I did not know it before, but it was very nice surprise. Taste is very light and smooth.

I found this to be a lovely not too sweet rum to sip over ice. Not so expensive that I wouldn't want to mix it and enjoy a cocktail.

Having exhausted all the cheaper rums available to me, with a mixed level of enjoyment, I decided to take advantage of a black Friday sale to try a bottle of this after hearing good things.

Simply put, I could drink this neat all day long. It's got a little heat but it's balanced fantastically with the sweetness of the sugar cane and it's one of the few rums where I've really been able to pick up on the different stages of flavour for each sip.

I will definitely be buying it again.

Rumy tejto nikaragujskej značky sú pomerne rozšírené, začínam 12-ročnou verziou. Fľaša štýlová, ťažká, z hrubého skla. Výrazne dubová vôňa dáva tušiť, že pôjde o suchší typ. Tóny sú veľmi príjemné, okrem duba cítiť oriešky a slabú vanilku, po prehltnutí sa začne uvoľňovať zaujímavá a svojská ľahká kvetová aróma. Trochu mi na tomto drinku prekáža istá "neotesanosť", pálivá drsnosť, ktorá preštípe všetky dutiny. Milovníkov suchých rumov určite nesklame, ja som predsalen väčším fanúšikom ľahších a do šírky tónov pestrejších druhov. Tento je vcelku priamočiary, ale ako píšem, v zásade nemôže žiadneho rumana ničím uraziť. Subjektívny rating medzi 6 a 7, vzhľadom k cene dávam nižšiu hodnotu, osobne by som dal prednosť jemnejšiemu Barcelo Imperial.

Pro mně je to takový lepší "myslivec" :(
Nevýrazná, ostrá, lihovitá vůně i chuť. Jediné co cítím je dub.

For me it has lots going for it but top of the list is taste!!! Im losing my sense of smell so cant comment. the fact that its a 12 yr old at a slightly lower price point is a bonus too but imho there are lots of artificially sweetened rums which don;t come close to this and it has none added! I like the sweet ones anyway but if the product is good enough to stand alone Like this one so be it. Yet to try other Flor de Cana offerings so will do in time.

Nose is oak with some hidden caramel and a little vanilla sweetness. The taste is a solid burn right against the back of your throat...again oak, some leather. I like it as I am a bourbon fan but this line is pretty pricey for rum. Way better than the 7.

Smells pure alcohol, first taste my tongue burned. Thereafter tried with ice, drinkable but differcult to notice all flavors. After i tried with Coke and it was okey. So i recommend it as mixer.

Interesting rum, but the lack of added sugar limits the development of the aromas of this rum

Great sweet flavors. Mellow and easy to drink. Fruit flavors with a hint of spice. A good way to mix it up.
