El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

It has alluring smell. A bit more sweet for my taste. But solid and strong one.
I had been wanting to taste this 15 yo since i had the 12 years a few months ago, great rum, but i did not notice that big of a difference between this 15 years and the 12.. i guess i’ll have to try them side by side and decide then. Worth a try.
Certainly an interesting, complex rum, not suited for beginners. Below spicey alc is a decent sweetness combined with chocolate, caramel, toffee aromas. I‘d prefer the 12years version.
Stapje beter dan de 12 jaar versie. Goede rum niet al te zoet en makkelijk weg te drinken puur of mix.
A very good rum slightly better than the 12-year old.
Once your finished your first glass. You will be wanting more. It is a dangerously addictive rum this one.
Not bad but pricy for what I tasted. Initial taste was rather harsh for a 15 yr old, almost bourbony but eased after that that on ice. Complex for sure rating was lowered by the price ($40+) for the taste. Almost bought zacapa but wanted to try this. Would go zacapa next time
Smoky and rich taste with flavours of Coffee and vanilla
A little about I was a die hard Irish Whiskey drinker until we took a trip to Cuba about 15 years ago and did a tour of the Havana Club Distillery, at the end of the tour the Manager took us all up to the tasting room well about 3 minutes into the tasting he had an emergency and had to leave for about 10 minutes with the statement just help yourselves well ok. The Oldest I had was the 7 year old and that started me on this journey to try as many top quality rums before I died. El Dorado is by far one of go to rums, slightly sweet with hints of Raisins, Carmel and a slight hint of smoke, nice and smooth with out a lot of burn. My cabinet always has a bottle of this fine rum in it. Buy it sip it enjoy you won't be disappointed.

"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
