Guyana | Aged | 43% ABV

El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.

The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

En rigtig fin og fyldig rom. Rigtig god duft og en fyldig smag. Jeg havde dog forventet mig mere.

I bought El Dorado's 3, 8, 12 and 15 for a gathering. There was also an Appleton Estate Extra 12 year there (That seems to be replaced by the Appleton Estate 12 year Rare Blend now). I had a lot of trouble deciding wether I liked the 12, the 15 or the Appleton 12 more... Between the El Dorado 12 and 15 I'm still undecided, And since they're both supposed to be about an 8 according to this website, I'm going to rate them both accordingly and use it as a benchmark for future ratings.

Demasiado simple para ser realidad! una sorpresa agradable cuando tienes un ron de esta calidad en tu paladar. para disfrutarlo puro o en cΓ³ctel

The appearance is once again that glowing, coppery brown color rums owe to the caramel coloring.

On the nose, it's surprisingly harmonious - the unpleasant turpentine not from the 21y is gone, the scent is sweet, earthy, candied figs, wet earth, baking spices, warm and inviting overall.

The palate is once again dominated by the added sugar, but not so much this time, the overall tone is much more sober and earthy, freshly baked bread, tree bark, figs, dates. The mouthfeel is heavier, more rounded than in case of the 21y, and the finish is longer.

Although the 21y rum is full of flair and likeable components like various spicy notes and shades of

I've drunk ED 12 for some time, but keep trying its older brother, hoping to be converted. It's undoubtedly smoother than the 12 year old and goes down well, but I prefer the bite and slight afterburner of the 12 year old. That aside, it's still an excellent rum which I have no hesitation in recommending.

This was a nice, mature rum. Great flavor, and smooth with a slight "kick" on the back end.

No i cenovΓ‘ :-D . Byl velice krΓ‘snΔ› kouΕ™ovΓ½ s parΓ‘dnΓm dΕ™evem a čokolΓ‘dou. PomΔ›rnΔ› silnΓ½ v chuti s jemnΓ½m dojezdem prΓ‘vΔ› čokolΓ‘dovΓ½ch tΓ³nΕ―, kterΓ© to celΓ© chuΕ₯ovΓ© spektrum uzavΓrΓ‘. Je to moc dobrΓ½ rum k doutnΓkΕ―m i virΕΎΓnkΕ―m. Doporučuji zahΕ™Γ‘t doutnΓkovΓ½m kouΕ™em v napoleonce. Za mΔ› parΓ‘dnΓ zΓ‘ΕΎitek.

I like this one better than the 12 year, but I think the difference is quite small, maybe it has less value for money.
Would like to give this a 8.5 - Not quite a 9 for me.

Delicious for sipping. Was skeptical given how good the 12 year is , but pleasantly surprised.

Worth every penny.

I liked the 15 year version of this rum, but I just don't think it lives up to the 12 year old model. It had a slightly harsher burn to me that I didn't expect. It was still a really good taste that I thoroughly enjoyed, just fell a little short of my expectations.
