Carupano Anejo Reserva Especial 6-Year

Duft af karamel, men også både sød og tør. Smagen er varm med frugt og karamel. Eftersmag af anis. (6. december 2021 i 1423)

Honigfarbig im Glas.
In der Nase weich und zart. Ein helles Sahne-Karamellbonbon auf kandierten Früchten, kleine Schokoflocken liegen oben auf.
Am Gaumen zurückhaltend und scheu. Schokolade mit Karamell im Alkoholbad, ein paar Früchtchen sind auch noch anzutreffen. Die Bitterkeit macht sich im Hintergrund breit.
Im Abgang sehr schnell weg und die Bitterkeit bleibt zum Glück auch nicht zu lange.

Honey colored in the glass.
Soft and delicate on the nose. A light cream caramel on candied fruit, small chocolate flakes lie on top.
Restrained and shy on the palate. Chocolate with caramel in an alcohol bath, a few bits of fruit to be found as well. Bitterness makes its presence felt in the background.
In the finish very quickly gone and the bitterness remains fortunately also not too long.
in rum that is sure to find its friends. For the brave and bored.

Had just a sample of this rum from Venezuela.
It’s a Latin styled rum without being extremely sweet.
It’s golden colored and made from molasses aged for up to 6 years in ex-bourbon casks. So I suppose it’s a Solera.
From nose, via palate to the very short finish I recognize the bitterness and notes of fruits and vanilla together with some sweetness.
Overall an extremely weak tasting rum that I can’t recommend.

Vanilla, potpourri and oak. Some sugar cane, caramel. Light golden colour. Finish has a little booze. Pleasant.

Similar to other carupano rums there is a heavy toffee nose and flavor but this feels watered down and weak, barely any burn

Somehow the barrel expression resulted in unique egg-yolk taste, it meshes well with the wooden background. No sugar detected.

There are hints of flavour. But that's about it, no actual flavour
