This was the one of the first sipping rums I tried and because of the sweetness I instantly liked it . Now I’ve tried more rums I think I’m searching for more complex deeper flavours but it’s still very very good . Probably a great starting rum beyond mixer rums
It’s fairly sweet, yes, but not as much as I anticipated. I respectfully disagree that it is a “rum liqueur”. It is very good sipping rum with some complexity in the nose and in the palate.vanilla, oak and I pick up the faintest minty note. Definitely worth trying.
Have recently gotten into sipping rums and this has blown everything out of the water. On the sweeter side (which I love) this goes down easy with zero burn. Lots of vanilla, sugar and molasses has me coming back for more. Will definitely be buying more of this
So lovely- wish the price point was lower since it's just the best to take sips of!
A rum that’s well worth the money. Buy this one once, and you’ll keep buying them as soon as the bottle runs dry.
Irresistible aroma’s, a remarkable depth of flavor and a seductive elegant finish!
Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva
This is a great introduction rum for ppl who are starting to explore the world of rum.
During the distillery of this rum there is suggar added, so this rum is more on the sweeter side, hence the 'introduction rum'. Also for the more experienced this is an awesome rum.
The nose is sweet with hints of fruit, vanilla and caramel.
This rum has an excelent mouth feel with and tastes like vanilla with toffee.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Strong flavour, a bit too sweet for my liking, but always a gate opener for someone who havent tried sipping rum.
