This one is a delight at a very decent price. Little bit oily and with lots of flavour. Not too sweet, which I like a lot.
Bought the gift set with 2 glasses, poured my first glass smelled of syrup and orange, oak, and tasted similar, very easy to drink neat or on rocks or old fashioned, nice rum for a now and then treat but not my best.
Ni muy dulce ni muy seco con un grado de alcohol muy equilibrado lo convierten en uno de los mejores Ron en relación calidad precio. Ácido en su justa media y final con matices agradables en boca. Este Ron siempre es un acierto para tomar solo con hielo
Nice smoky, sugar cane, and vanilla taste. Smooth bouquet. Great choice to sip.
So, I was expecting this to be basically a sweet syrupy liqeur from the other reviews, but that was actually not my experience - certainly less sweet than Plantation XO or Ron Zacapa 23 solera. Which is certainly not a bad thing, you can always add some sugar or syrup if you like. While I did get the notes of toffee and vanilla, I thought the alcohol was actually very present - a bit too harsh for my liking, I guess. That being said, still absolutely decent and readily available sipping rum that can be enjoyed by most people.
I wavered between 9 and 10 on this one. I'm sure it's not perfect but it is as close as I have tasted in a long time. Maybe a tad too sweet is what keeps it from a 10. I love port though and it almost had some of that body. Lots of sweet fruit flavors but also marzipan and banana tones. Sublime. Enjoyed with a fantastic Nicaraguan puro.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

My first sample of this was in Amsterdam along with a Partagas Maduro cigar. The hotel bartender recommended it, and I went outside to the warm summer air, put some Pink Floyd on the headphones, lit up and discovered one of my favorite rums and favorite cigars. Now it is a staple in my liquor cabinet.
