Surprised by this rum.
I must say I wasn't expecting much of it.
The nose can be perceived as molasses and caramel. The nose is similar to the El Dorado 12.
Taste some caramel, pleasant flavor, some tobacco, and oak. The flavor reminds me of the Barbados 5-year Plantation rum.
Nothing wrong with the flavor, now comes the part that I didn't like. I know is a rum that has sugar, and I try not to judge by that and they are very open to disclosing that information, but after a cup, I cannot continue drinking it, all I can taste is syrup.
I will say as an aperitif is good, but sipping is not my first choice.
Don’t ruin this one by dropping a lot of ice with this one and its definitely not the one to use with Coke. Enjoy the full flavors this wonderful rum has to offer, its amazing!
I've had a couple bottles of this rum. Veeeeery smooth and pretty sweet. This has sugar and colour added so if that's not your thing this probably isn't for you. The sweetness isn't overbearing as some may say. Love this rum
Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva my first rum for rating. Good choice based on ratings from here. This is a must have for all who like rum.
Put it on my Sip Shelf for guest who are not Rummers. Too good for a mixer!
Smooth and drinkable a little bit of heat. GREAT warm and neat
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."
