I love maple syrup but I dont want my sipping rum to taste like it.
There are times that you have to turn your brain off and just bow to truth... this is one of the most enjoyable liquids one could ever imbibe.
Is it super sweet? Sure, so is cotton candy
Is sugar added? Sure, it's also added to lemonade, too.
Is it affordable? Sure, so are funnel cakes.
And life is all the better because of them.
Nose - Black Currant, Nutmeg, Burnt Rubber
Palate - Cherry, Brown Sugar, Licorice, Toffee
Enjoy this one and remember, traveling carnivals exist for a reason.
I like sweet rums and this is definitely one. I love the subtle flavor in the background that isn’t overpowering, I probably would have rated it higher if it was more pronounced; but that’s a personal preference. It’s affordable and smooth, a great introduction to rum or something to keep on hand that will please many folks.
A bargain. A good beginner's rum.
Nose not too heavy. But also not too sweet. Caramel and a touch of oak.
Nice and smooth when it comes to taste. Very drinkable and likeable. Very friendly on the palet.
Really smooth, easy to taste , you can enjoy the flavour in your mouth
Sweet, but not so, very smooth, pleasant to sipping with one ice cube.
As a rum rookie, having only had Captain Morgan, I found the sweetness with a little burn on the finish very welcoming. I got toffee and vanilla notes.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I was given this as a birthday present - very happy to say the least.
It is balanced and smooth with a slight burn on the initial sip, but it quickly dissipates.
Rich tones of caramel and chocolate.
