Philippines | Aged | 40% ABV
Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

Nice smooth and warm taste.
Long after taste.
My favourite
Smell of vanilla and caramel. Mild but complex aroma of caramel, vanilla and in the finish of oak barrel.
The smell and taste is vanilla. Maybe artificial, thatβs why allot bad points on rumratings I guess. I can enjoy it neat or with coke it really fits. Not to sweet not to much alcohol taste. 6,5 for me.
I really like this rum. It's sweet and has a very good taste.
I dont believe that its synthetic like some previous reviewers. Maybe the molasses used are quite different from others. However heavy taste not in line with the smell. Worth the try.
A very decent daily-drink rum. Not the easiest to find in the US.
This rum tastes very sweet and fruity, imo it's comparable to Grand Marnier (which is a French liqueur).
It's designed to appeal to the general public, not so much to the average rum enthousiast.
That aside, I think it's a nice drink to enjoy for dessert with a cup of coffee. Not so much as a sipper on a nice evening.
I think it's worth trying but buying a whole bottle before tasting is risky.
Lastly it's a nice looking bottle and beautiful packaging with attention to detail.
Have it in my collection once and a while. Of one of the other bottles.

Smells a lot like a vanilla and lemonade ice cream float.
"For all its sweet sugariness, its really very drying and bitter on the palate once it all settles down."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I found this rum to be quite flavourless compared to other rums I tasted. The colour is reddish, kind of generic looking to be honest. The taste is VERY SWEET, too much for me, but if you want a light, sweet rum, you can try this one. Also worth mentioning is the packaging, which is the only thing I like about this rum.
