Comparable to Ron Zacapa. Hints of chocolate and vanilla, but not quite as smooth as Zacapa. Excellent fallback.
I'm a fan of Trinidad rum, and would have rated this an 8 until I tasted the previous Guatemalan version. This is sweet, with vanilla and fruit. However, it can get a touch cloying.
Nok den sødeste tom jeg har haft, er super god i en Jamaican Mule til pigerne - der ikke er vild med alkoholsmagen
I highly suggest this rum to anyone who is looking for a wonderful every weekend rum. Although this is tastes a bit thick and heavy, it is very enjoyable and an all around great experience. Pair this with a Romeo Julieta, and you are in for a treat.
Very smooth and easy to drink. This can be dangerous because you can have 4 or 5 of these without realizing you should slow down and bam, hits you like a brick wall.
Darker color, aroma of spices mainly vanilla, smooth and sweet taste, pleasant in the throat. Goes well with cheese.
I have been enjoying Zaya sice before Trinidad. I have to say on a technical level I have had better rums but does not mean I like them more. From the creamy custard mouth feel to the rich burnt surgar and wafting vanilla notes. This is the rum that the day could be long, short, hard left-sideways or whatever if anyone said "How about some Zaya" My response is always"Yeah that does sound good". When I was gifted a Whisk(e)y decanter and not sure what to put in it my daughter pointed out I do not have a favorite whisk(e)y but I do have a rum so it holds that wonderful beverage that drinks like Creme Brulee.
The zaya gran reserva is simply a beautiful bottle to own if you have a bar. The taste goes with the bottle to its sweet and goes down without a big kick.
Greate taste, I like with two ice cubes in a Coñac glass.

Nice sweetness will caramel and vanilla. Not as smooth or complex as higher tier bottles but for the price a solid rum. Ok to sip and great mixed.
