A very smooth sipping rum! Great flavour achieved from blending several rums, and it works well. Best enjoyed neat. A little pricey, but very enjoyable.
Taste is complex, balanced sweet, smooth, very soft. This is definitely good buy.
Zaya is a great introduction to finer rums or a good value sipper. If you like making daiquiris with amaretto, this is a pretty decent option- the slightly earthier flavors in zaya (yes, it's markedly sweet, but has some complexity) go well with liquers in my experience.
I may be a bit biased as this was the first rum that I discovered that I loved to sip. Now I compare everything against it. I can't help it. Definite Vanilla notes.
Good flavor, but alcohol bite at the end was a bit unpleasant. Better with food.
You would not guess it is 12YO. Very smooth with almost no alcohol burn. Distillery has one of the best maestro ronero in the Carribean.
Dark colour, some might say it's overly sweet but I find it very smooth. Caramel, vanilla, oak and a smoky end.
Love it!
Get a strong vanilla chocolate sugary aroma from it. Taste is decent

Dark colour would expect more sugar but actually not in this case. Yes, sweet, but not too much. Little spicy, lot of vanilla.
