Very sweet, balanced flavor, smooth, lingering finish! Excellent price point, go get a bottle or 2 and impress your friends!

This is one of my two absolute favorite rums. I am a little disappointed that they changed the design of the bottle. With the change of the bottle it tastes a little different as well, although that just may be me. This is a fantastic sipping rum. You could mix it but it would be a little disgraceful to the rum

Very sugary and flavorful rum. I like this one on the rocks or even better with a coca cola ice cube.
Costco has this for $25. Very nice rum formthe price. If I didn't include price in my rating, I would give it a 7.

Rum came highly recommended from the shop owner. Rich, dark color, but found the wood taste overwhelming, with lots of vanilla and molasses. I'm drinking this and thinking more about whiskey barrels than the Rum itself. Moderately smooth but could be better balanced. Aftertaste of wood and vanilla lingers.

Den er lidt skarpere i smagen.

I'm consistently puzzled with good titles to give to reviews. I read another review titled "The high end of the low end" and actually lol'ed. This describes it perfectly.

It's very sweet, and a rum that you can use to show people that not all rum will burn your mouth when you sip it. That being said, a seasoned rum taster can tell that something is up with this one. Some sort of artificial flavoring, but I can't place what part of the flavor is artificial. Still, this rum isn't awful. It's pretty OK. But it's not great. I'd still say give it to people who are unsure of rum.

Friend recommended it to me, it's his favourite. To me the taste is mellow, sweet, smooth with little bite. I don't share his opinion - too sweet and one-dimensional for me.

It's Friday night and time for the rum review. From what's called the land of the hummingbird, Trinidad the southernmost island of the Caribbean, comes Zaya Gran Reserva. It wasn't always from there though. Originally started in Guademala it was distilled there until 2008 when the aquisition of several rum brands by the Diageo Spirits conglomerate which brought in brands like Botran and Zacapa, left the Zaya brand out of the loop. An upcoming brand and gaining momentum in its sales they moved to Trinidad and joined up with Infinium Spirits. Family owned Infinium Spirits is known for igniting brands and accelerating their sales. Some other brands owned by this parent company are Seagrams Vodka, Templeton Rye, Fernet-Branca, Antica Formula, Branca Menta among other brand less known. The Zaya distillery produces their rums using small batch copper pot stills with pure ferment sugar cane juice, then aged in small casks for a minimum of 12 to 18 years. It is blended from 3 to 5 different ages based on their taste and age.
Having a rich coppery amber color, the legs are very slow to form but once they do they fall gracefully and end up as drops on the side of my snifter.
The aromas of sweet vanilla and caramel as a foundation the highlights are of a spicy smoke and has no astringency properties.
The entry was amazingly nice, with spiced fruits, my thoughts are cherry and dried apricot, a healthy flavor of vanilla and caramel. The finish of a nutty smoke is wonderfully smooth.
The drinks I'd recommend would be Zaya and cola, to make a reminiscent cherry vanilla coke. A great sipper by itself, and one I would highly recommend. Tonight's drink of choice is chilled over a single ice sphere, and of course with my golden ginger ale.
Till the morrow I'll be back with another review but till then. Stay safe, stay alert, stay alive, and drink responsibly. Down the hatch.
