Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
Thoughts: Batch No 3. Definitely not for rum lovers but a cheeky quirky flavour. With memories of foam banana penny sweets and milkshake. Even as a known artificial flavouring it really wasn't worth the purchase. Happy to definitely not drink this again.
Rating: 3/10
Smell - creamy foam bananas, milkshake, artificial banana, little spice
Taste - Not as banana as the smell, light spiciness
After Taste - Medium to long tasting of cheap sweets
Rich and earthy with hints of mushrooms, smoky oak, and a touch of vanilla. A unique blend of mezcal-like smokiness and lingering spice.
A mix of tropical fruits, honey, and wine-infused wood creates a bold yet smooth profile with a smoky finish. Slight wine notes mingle with Jamaican funk, resulting in a complex yet divisive experience.
I’d like to imagine this is what rum tasted like when the guy on the logo was just another everyday consumer of the stuff. It’s not fantastic by any means, but it’s also under $20 (when you can find it) and sipping it takes me back to a time and place(or at least I’d like to think it does) where your only options for drinks were rum or ale. I gave it an extra point because I’m a sucker for labels/packaging.
Was decent at first, but the more I had I the fake coffee flavour came through. Was hard to finish the bottle near the end. Could be good mixed as coffee liqueur for a coffee cocktail.
Haven’t had this in a while so hard to remember exactly. Imo very similar to the 5 year and I might only be able to tell the difference if I had a side by side comparison. But otherwise, I’d rather the 5 because it’s cheaper for not much difference.
Just recently had this one. A lot of people prefer the 12 year, but I personally like the 15 better. Has strong aroma notes of caramel, wood, and vanilla. Tasting notes are cameral (again), earthy, and woody characteristics, has no burn on the finish

Better then Mamtuano. Not so sharp, you can feel that it is older.
Buttery, spicy, mild sweetness.
Finish is a bit harsh, but ok
A super smooth, rich, deep rum. Full of warmth and smoothness.

Thoughts: A rather good honey spiced rum as labelled. The initial taste is slightly medicinal in nature but the smell and finish really does bring through that honey, and not just cheap honey too, some interesting floral notes and vanilla to round it off. £28 for the bottle means this is a easy Christmas present and easy to have it in the winter as well as the summer. Happy to buy another one!

Smell - Honey, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg
Taste - slightly medicinal honey flavour but pleasant, sweet, little spice in the form of nutmeg, cinnamon
After Taste - medium length developing into fresh floral honey flavour still with sweetness with a hint of vanilla

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
