Oily, saline, and of course mushrooms (but less than expected). Also molasses, despite the bottle saying 100% guarapo (which is sugar cane, not molasses). Reminiscent of mezcal, perhaps because there aren't many savory spirits, and there is a little smokiness... perhaps from the aging (over 3 years in ex-bourbon barrels). Some people will love this; it's certainly unique enough to recommend that almost anyone at least try it!
Tasted in San Antonio's Riverwalk 2/18/23 at Hugman's Oasis
Slight peatiness in the nose
I don't know if I have a sudden omni-affinity for all rums for if ice just been lucky with tastings lately but I really like this one. It's a sipper for sure!
Rich roll of flavor, including heavy molasses that lingers.
I do think it would add complexity to drinks with grapefruit and/or ginger.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Rum made from sugar cane cultivated at higher altitude. Lighter in colour, an aroma that needs time to build up. Oily texture, lengthy aftertaste
