A really soft and gentle rum, fruity and sweet. At the Price a very decent rum, a good sipper, and great for desserts.
Smooth and well balanced. Would buy again, good value.
Had a few rounds of this at a bar in the dominican republic. It's a good rum with a nice and soft scent of caramel and figs. The palette offer notes of burt sugar, oak and caramel, with a rather smoothe finish. Good value.
I am perhaps taken in by the products of other islands, or maybe I have been seduced by rums in other price points. But, I no longer see the Imperial as a sipping rum. It's solid, no doubt - with a shallower version of the characteristics of newer rums from other producers. But, it doesn't light my fire.
Rum is a mixer. Although it has nice flavors, this rum lacks depth and it has an overly alcoholic
A great rum for the price. Notes of oak, coconut, brown sugar, and vanilla. Makes for a good sipper.
Smooth mouth and throat feel. Just a tad to sweet for sipping purposes. Carmel, vanilla, light plum, and raisin flavors. Short finish with a hint of brown sugar. Overall, a nice, well rounded, everyday sipping rum but still somewhat forgettable.
I'm sorry, how much is this rum? Yes, please! Great Spanish style rum. Hint of sweetness. I'm a big fan of Dominican rums, and I think I'm starting to lean Barcelo over Brugal, although I love the higher end of Brugal's rums. On the other hand, this blows Brugal XV and 1888 out of the water.

The nose is light and gentle.
"It’s quite nicely balanced but just a little bit too nice."

I think this is definitely a top choice for sipping. Not too sweet or overly flavored. Smooth and easy to enjoying particularly with a nice cigar.
