Good for walking over forests with friends and backpacks
Got this rum on Curasao for 23$. What a bargain, exceptional good for this price.
It's rich in taste and spicy (not harsh).
You should give this rum some time to breath, 10-20min would be fine, because at the beginning there is a alcohol note in the smell.
I love the oil, it's warm and fills your mouth with flavours.
The finish is warm and spicy, some light sweetness remains on the palet. This rum is very very good.
Smell: oak, caramel, some molasses, dry fruits (plum, raisins), mandarine, toasted barrel
Taste: caramel, burned suggar, rum raisins, mandarine, vanilla, spice, oak, some bitterness (not much)
Sweetness: 2/5
Fruit: 3/5
Spice: 3/5
Mildness: 4/5
Value (21€): 4/5
No it won’t compete with the truly great rums, but this is an absolutely delicious rum for its price. It is a staple in my cabinet due to the quality, price, and availability. It is very smooth with vanilla and caramel flavors, a touch of oak and a nice subtle hint of smokiness. The subtlety and balance of the flavors at $19 a bottle is what makes this an 7/10. It not a the level of the aged rums...but it doesn’t pretend to be. If you aren’t a rum drinker but wanted to have one inexpensive rum for guests this is a great choice.
Almoast too smooth. Nothing happends when it hits your tounge except nice flavours, no alcohol burn at all. Tastes good but wait..wait......WAIT...nothing. But for the price it's thumbs up.
It's a bit like the Gran Anejo but with less nuts and more oak. Same sweetness. Expected more
Sötaktig kola doft. Känns len i munnen med lite kryddighet. Trodde på mer sötma.
Sampled this rum at Cardiff Rum Festival.
'A limited edition bottling of Ron Barceló, created in celebration of 30 years production. Every year since 1980, Miguel Barceló has set aside private reserves of his rum for two extra years of ageing, and has used these to create their Imperial Premium Blend.'
It's rich, dark and chocolatey with dried fruit and hints of sherry, a superb sipper!
A great tasty rum. Not so spicy but taste compensate the lack of spices. A bit costly.
Not my favourite. Not very Sweet, but a nice flavour
"ends with a carrot cake ice cream taste"
"Barcelo Imperial rum review by the Ultimate Rum Guide"
The nose is light and gentle.
"It’s quite nicely balanced but just a little bit too nice."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
