Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac
The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

I love the thicker viscosity of the Zacapa XO that coats the palate providing smooth complex flavors with a light burn. Great when it is cold, warm, with a cigar, or on special occasions.
Great value for money, honey nose and complex finish
Any rum-lover shall try/taste this darling... #zacapa
Very similar to the 23, a little less sweet and a little oaky.
First off, I recognize the fact that this rum is sugared fairly heftily.
With that being said...
It has a nice mahogany color with shades of red.
Its aroma is pleasant with a little alcohol sting.
It has some spiciness to it but also some sweetness and flavors that come from the cognac barrels in which it is finished for an additional couple of years. Flavors of vanilla and toffee seemed prominent to me. Other flavors were detected below the surface but not identifiable. The finish is somewhat sweet yet spicy and lasts rather long.
My personal objection is the $100 price tag. I feel it's about $20 too much.
It's a fine rum and far superior to the Zacapa 23 Solera but if you're going to spend that much I recommend Mount Gay 1703 Old Cask rum, Clement Cuvee Homere Rhum, and Flor de Cana 25 Single Estate rum.
Fin rom, til pengene. Har en god eftersmag uden at blive for sød.
Dette er den bedste rom jeg har smagt. Perfekt balance.
Glæder mig til Ambassador, om den kan overhale denne XO
Untill now my best rum since I got stuck on this incredible beverage. A beautiful bottle/colour/scent. Chocolate smell and taste rule! To explain this rum,,, sophisticated in one word!! Maybe I should give it a 10 because it's at the top of my price-range but I still got the ron quorhum 30y in my cabinet waiting for another special ocasion.

It is rich with coffee notes and a little tobacco.

Definitiv ein hervorragender Rum, süss, mild und komplex. Der Rum schmeckt für mich nach Honig, Vanille, Schokolade und nach Früchten. Sehr feiner und angenehmer Geschmack, ein Traum.
