Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac
The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

I enjoyed everything about this rum from its presentation in the bottle to its scent when opened and the finish on the palette. I am not experienced at the nuisances of different flavors or scents to the palette or nose. But I know enough to say this is the best aged rum I have had to date.
I'm new to aged rums, but this is my favorite so far! Notes of vanilla, butterscotch, and leather on the nose, smooth and buttery mouth feel, with a somewhat ripened fruit finish. It's a little too costly as an everyday rum for myself, but deserves a place on the shelf for those special occasions.
Für mich das Nonplus-Ultra. Bisher kommt kein anderer Rum an diesen ran.
The very best that I have ever had. I've never purchased any rum product twice except for Zacapa XO and the 23...
Var skuffet i starten i forhold til prisen, men får den lige lov at hvile lidt i glasset bliver den ganske god
This is one of the best rums i have tasted so far.
Sophisticated and smooth, rum raisin both on the nose and taste. Perfect with a nice piece of chocolate!
Overall a good dram. Not sure of the value for money though.
Un chouette rhum! Vraiment sympa au nez et vraiment terrible en bouche! Fort sur le caramel.
Meilleur rhum que Guatemala ait jamais fait. Un must have à déguster

It is rich with coffee notes and a little tobacco.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I know that price should never affect ratings, and Zacapa XO is a solid 9. It's a tiny bit smoother than it's brother R Z 23, a hint more spice in the nose, and surprisingly a bit drier than the 23. If I was asked to choose however between one bottle of Zacapa XO and 2-3 bottles of the Zacapa 23...well...please dont ask!
