The nose is rich with notes of coffee, cacao and treacle, theres a subtle nutiness there too. That coffee cacao combination carries through on the palate too. It's a good sipper and the aftertaste lingers for quite a while.
One of the best rums I've ever tried. Very smooth and spicy at the same time. It has an almost endless variety of flavours that kick in at different times. Not for casual drinking, this is the real deal!
Flavors of caramel, fruit, and vanilla. Cognac casks master at flavor here.
It’s the best rum I’ve ever had. Don’t know why i didn’t give it a 10. Just assuming that magical 10 is out there somewhere. Love the strong vanilla and molasses flavor.

Typical Solera style rum that has that hybrid chocolate/whisky taste. Unlike the lesser "23" version, this goes down far smoother. Also has slight citrus aroma to it.
9 because is without doubt is a really fine rum and I enjoyed a lot, but at the same time I think is very overpriced. In my opinion is very similar to Zacapa 23 Solera which is three times less the price of the XO! Great but not worth the money.
I had this for the first time to end a meal at Father's Day. It starts out really clean, but I found the finish a bit bitter. Zesty to the point of bitter, like too much peel. I'd say not worth the price.
Na tento rum som sa velmi velmi tesil. Prednim som testoval Zacapa 23y - 8 z 10 bodov. Od tohto som cakal ze to bude pecka a budem hodnotit 10 z 10...ale...

Vona: citit vyzretost rumu cez sudovu vonu / skor brandy vona. Celkovo ale vona nic extra...
Chut: ....nuz... chut sudova/brandy, bolo citit aj nejaku sladkost ale vsetko tam pokazila silna alkoholova chut a jeho dozvuk. Vyzrety rum a takto silny alkoholovy dozvuk a chut???
Nuz od skoro 100€ rumu som cakal oooveeeela viac - velke sklamanie. Hlavne ze chut a vyzretost je slabsia ako jeho lacnejsi brat zacapa 23y je zvlastne :/
Isto si ho nekupim alebo neobjednam znova!!!!
