Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac
The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

I think is a good rum but for it’s value it has to be a great rum. Good for sipping, expecting much more from it.
Its better than Zacapa 23 solera, but still not worth price for me. Artificial taste, bad solera usage.
When I first reserved this amazing bottle design for a package. I was thinking I would most likely not enjoy it. But I was very surprised it was a very nice smooth sipping and complex tasting rum.
Smooth and very sweet. Can't go wrong with this one. Aroma of vanilla. And the legs drip like syrup.
Before Zacapa XO, I would have told you I wasn't a rum fan. This rum changed my mind. It's excellent.
Found this for $99 at my local shop (Total Wines & More). The rum has an excellent taste, not much burn, and quite sweet with some nice aromas. I’ll let other describe those, but definitely better than the Zacapa 23 I had recently. Of course, I am dubious that I’m not being swayed by additives since the sugar has been reported at 26 g/l. Regardless, I really enjoyed it. I added ice half way through and wished I hadn’t. Much better neat.
One thing I noticed is they seem to have changed the bottle and packaging. The phrase “virgin sugar cane honey” is now replaced everywhere with “virgin sugar cane”. Interesting change... They must be sensitive to their sugary reputation. Also, my bottle is more circular compared to the older photos. Mine has some cheap gold-colored plastic wrapped around the top of the bottle and underside of the cap. It doesn’t fit cleanly and just feels cheap. They seem to have take some cost out of the box as well (pretty flimsy).
This is one of my favorite rums, my only issue with it is the price. I understand why it is at its price point and it is worth every penny
Great flavor, body, smooth and taste, perfect for special occasions.

It is rich with coffee notes and a little tobacco.

There's absolutely nothing confronting or difficult in this rum. Fantastic on ice, and even better neat.
Touch sweet for my taste, no particular tang, but that didn't stop me having to restrain myself. You will guard this bottle more jealously than ice cream, it's that good.
