Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Facile à boire, sur des notes de caramel, il est intéressant de gouter ce rhum élevé en haute altitude
Well well well 3 holes in the ground. NICE.
Soft and smooth drink at 1st then the alcohol kicks in for a second then the pleasure of this rhum melts in your mouth.
Nice bottle
One of the best I have tried. Bit to sweeter side. Very smooth.
Originally I had tasted this rum in 2018 and would have given it a 9. However, after having the XO in Guatemala it was definitely a 8.5. In Guatemala is is basically used for mixing and the XO for sipping (if you have the money). It has a nice bite and a very good after taste.
Pre mňa podobná voľba ako Diplomatico 12YO. I keď charakterovo o čosi menej sladký. Komerčná záležitosť od Zacapy, ktorá neurazí,no tiež neoslni. V porovnaní s inými rumami v tomto veku zaostáva.
This is smooth and easy to drink. It is a little sweet but it also has a roasted feel about it. All in all a pleasant experience.
I enjoyed this one, but it didn’t jump out at me as particularly amazing.
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.
