Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

I get it guys; I'm not supposed to like this because it's too sweet. You know what? I don't care. This stuff is freaking good. It is really sweet, and it probably has added sugar. That doesn't mean I can't like it. It's like Taylor Swift: you know you're not supposed to enjoy that type of music, but when Love Story comes on after a few drinks, you've gotta dance and scream and sing along to the words--and you know all the words.
Have always loved Zacapa, started with the lower priced ones but now can afford any of them! This one is very good, but not at the top for me
Well, this is nicely rewieved by others, i just love it!!
A real specialty, a super story of the preparation, feels strongly that it based on a directly pressed sugar cane leaf, not like the other molasses rums. It may be too sweet for someone because of a lot of honey, but it represents his own category, not possible compare with other rums, a very delicious slipper!
A avoir dans sa réserve de rhum de dégustation. Toujours bon à boire.
I bought this rum as everyone kept telling me it is supposed to be one of the better accessible ones. And it is indeed such an amazing rum. The smell is wonderful and intense but not too overwhelming and the same is true for the taste. The aftertaste moreover stays for quite a while! Even my friends who don't like rum loved this one!
Great rum, a touch of oak and char, smooth and defined. One of the best rums I’ve had to date
You want to keep it tight but also you want to taste it, drink every drop of it and after a night with her you want tell her that this love will last forever...
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

"The interplay between the wood of the barrel and the liquor contents gives the alcohol its flavour, colour and character..."

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A good rum for beginners but not top shelf material.
A bit overrated, but damn good PR work
