Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Was introduced at a local bar and its sweet and with much flavour. Love the vanilla in it and some coconut?
Nice rum but there are better ones at a lower price.
A birthday gift that I enjoyed but there are similar style better quality, better value rums out there.
Vanilla and caramel. Excellent for cocktails. Try it with salt !!!
This rum is typical, strong tasting, liked by many, not really sweet. Its classic.
I like drinking this while smoking a cigar. It is a tad overpriced but it tastes ok with a bit of ice.

Tried only a sampler, but it was very nice, little bit to sweet and syrupy for me, but very tasty and aromatic.
My wife who is not that much into rums loooved it.
Will have to buy a bottle to rate it properly.

Did buy a bottle, and it wasnt as good as i remembered it. I got that sweet alcoholic aftertaste thats not my thing really, altough i cant say its bad.
Actually quite dry and oaky.

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.
