Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

A nice smooth rum but donβt get fooled by the 23 year old. Itβs a blend of rum with some 23 year old rum added
The body itβs just perfect. The flavour, with the hint of sweetness mixing with the smoked flavour is just right in the exact amount. Quality/Price rate is very good
If I could I would give this a 7.5. Its better than some of the others that I would recommend, but not as good as the truly exceptional. Its sweeter than most, most likely due to the added sugar, but if that is the profile you are looking for its fine.

Expected much more from this one. A little bit dissapointed, just a good rum, nothing amazing for this price. Tasted in parallel with Dictador 20, and Dictador is far more better.
I bought this rum to add to my arsenal. It goes down easy and mixes well with pineapple or orange juice.
