Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Always enjoy this treat. It’s smooth and easy to drink.
i'm not a big fan, too sugary for me. But not bad. A little overated and pricey in my opinion.
Most probably the Best Rum , I have tasted so far, after 35yrs naval service around the World. A smooth tasting rum, equally as good as a high quality French cognac or a Single Scotch Malt Whisky.
Bought once… not again.
Found it to be a very ok rum
Overvalued.
Nice color, smooth and balanced taste. Easy pick in a bar when you can find it.
If you like neutral rum, there isn't much above than the Zacapa 23 Solera.
Besides the hint of bitterness I really enjoy in a rum, I feel chocolate and vanilla.
A flawless rum. I am giving 9 points only because I know there exist even better rums.
My husband’s favorite rum! Easy drinking, good to mix.
Tried this by recommendation & it didn’t disappoint. Although is not anything crazy, is a great quality rum. Nice smell, a little burn down the throat, good color & no hangover (which to me is very important). I’d recommend. It’ll not disappoint you. Just know it’s nothing crazy. Could find better things for less money.
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

"The interplay between the wood of the barrel and the liquor contents gives the alcohol its flavour, colour and character..."

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.
